The Open Mobile Summit London, 10-11 June 09
Thanks to all our sponsor and partners who made the Open Mobile Summit – London a huge success!
Our first London event was a huge success. The conference had 193 attendees and 69 speakers, who managed to get to the event despite the London-wide tube strike which started the night before and lasted for the duration of the conference. The city of London was gridlocked, with cabs in short supply – so people cycled, walked, even rollerbladed – to get to the event.
The feedback as to the quality of the networking, the speakers, and indeed the conversation / content, was exceptional. Here’s what some people had to say:
“The Open Mobile Summit had very good attendance and authoritative, eye opening content, and demonstrated that even in this downturn the mobile industry is entering a vibrant stage. For me, the Open Mobile Summit was a staging post to look back on”
Mark Curtis, CEO, Flirtomatic
“One of the best conferences I’ve ever attended. High-level speakers and very actual issues agitating the market right now.”
Jean-Bernard Gouzon, Sr. Product Manager, France Telecom
“Great conference – many thought leaders from the full mobile spectrum.”
Tim Massey, VP Product Development, Handmark
“I really enjoyed the event – there were very high calibre speakers and attendees, despite the strike”
Caroline Gabriel, Research Director, Rethink Research
“The Open Mobile Summit provided a great opportunity for us as a start-up to swim with the big fish.”
Alex Jonsson, Mobile Sorcery
“The Open Mobile Summit was a fantastic event” Ajit Jaokar www.opengardensblog.futuretext.com
"For an inside view of what happening in mobile, the Open Mobile Summit in London
this week was outstanding. Robin Batt's impressive ability to get the movers and
shakers of the industry together was complemented by a well thought-out programme
that aired the really tough issues facing operators, OEMs, service providers and
application developers. I came away with several insights that will impact directly
on how I evolve my business."
Martin Rigby, CEO, Psonar Limited
"High calibre participants in an intimate setting, an excellent networking opportunity!"
Christof Wittig, CEO, Servo Software, Inc
“The Open Mobile Summit can be defined by the quality, seniority and breadth of experience of both speakers and the audience. It’s certainly on my list of “must-attend” events both in London and in San Francisco.”
Russell Buckley, Chair, Mobile Marketing Association and VP, Admob
“Thank you for organising what has been the most popular event I’ve been involved with (bar MWC). Given the popularity of the event with I am sure we will look to do this next year. I’ll also be sure to report to the team in the States about this event.”
Marketing Director, Sponsoring company, Open Mobile Summit London 09
“The Open Mobile Summit was one of the best mobile events I’ve ever been to, due to the exceptional quality of attendees and speakers, and the intimate environment. This made it possible to have a meaningful dialogue with some of the most important people in the industry, in a way that is not possible at MWC.
